Boston Under 21 OUI Defense Attorney

Under 21 OUI Defense Lawyer in Boston

If you are stopped by law enforcement for suspicion of driving under the influence and are under 21 years old, you are in serious trouble.  The State of Massachusetts has passed DUI laws for individuals under 21 years old that are extremely strict.  If you register at .02% or above and are under 21, you will be charged with a DUI charge.  This is very serious for you, as if convicted your driver's license will be suspended for 30 days just for failing the breath test.  Your license will also be revoked for 210 days if you are convicted.  You will have to pay over $2500 in fines and court fees, and be required to take a 16-week alcohol treatment program (one day a week).  You will be on probation for a year.  If you registered at .20% or over, you will be required to attend a 2-week inpatient alcohol treatment program.

Are you under 21 and charged with DUI?

The Boston Under 21 DUI Defense Attorney will immediately review and evaluate the details of your case.  All evidence against you must be looked at to determine how to move forward to fight to avoid a conviction on the charge.  As a .02% BAC level is extremely low, one drink or less, and breathalyzers are notoriously inaccurate in their readings, it is possible to get arrested and charged with this offense without ever even taking a drink.  However, if convicted, you will no longer be allowed to drive, and this can have serious consequences if you are working or attending school and need a vehicle to get back and forth.  There are no "hardship" licenses available to those convicted of an Underage OUI.

Your Boston Underage OUI Defense Attorney will seek out every possible flaw in the case against you and will challenge any evidence that was procured without correct law enforcement procedure.  You are likely frightened and concerned.  The attorney understands your situation and can advise you of what to expect and what can be done to aggressively defend your case.
